Pets Clear Customs
As soon as your pets depart their origin country, we are able to begin the US Customs and Department of Public Health clearance process.
The entire process to complete this clearance can take anywhere from two to four hours to complete. Our in-house customs house broker will expedite the process to complete clearance for pets arriving any hour of the day.
SC Pet will meet, greet, receive, collect pets, process and complete US Customs and Department of Public Health clearance. We are able to provide VIP boarding or your pets are welcome to wait in our pet-friendly office until you have cleared people customs.

US Customs Process
All live animals arriving in the United States will be required to process US Customs Border Patrol and Department of Public Health clearance to complete the import process..
SC Pet will complete and satisfy all remaining airline and airport live animal import processes, documents and fees on your pet’s behalf.
In addition to the US Customs and Department of Public Health clearance – ALL DOGS will be required to complete a CDC Rabies Import Permit.
This extra CDC import permit will stand apart from the health certificate with government endorsement that your dog completes in the country of export.
This CDC permit may even be required to confirm your itinerary.
CDC Rabies Permit
The type of import permit your dog completes will depend on which country the dog has been in for the previous 6 months. The CDC Low-Risk and Rabies-Free country import permit will take but a moment to complete and approve.
Dogs returning or traveling to the U.S. from high-risk rabies country will complete their import permit based on whether dogs have U.S. Administered Vaccinations or Foreign Administered Vaccinations.
SC Pet will only be able to assist dogs arriving from low-risk or rabies-free countries – or dogs traveling from high-risk countries who have valid US administered vaccinations. Note that dogs from high-risk rabies countries with foreign vaccinations must be received by a CDC Approved Care Facility.
